Such a Lush..

..FANATIC!

For those of you who have not had the pleasure of experiencing the amazing-ness that is Lush, they are a brand that makes a whole bunch of handmade cosmetics. This includes everything from bath stuff, to shower gels, hair treatments, face masks, lotions, soaps, and more. Did I mention it all smells amazing? If you have never been to a Lush store, or if there isn't one around you go check out their website
http://www.lushusa.com/shop You can order all of their products online as well.

Inside of a Lush store

I have been obsessed with Lush since I first went there my freshman year of college. The thing that first caught my eye were their bubble bars. They smelled amazing and would fill your bath with creamy bubbles. The first bubble bar I ever tried, which is still to this day my all time favorite bar was the comforter bar.

This fruity bubble bar gives the feeling of being hugged by
a jolly blackcurrant.
The warm aroma of cassis absolute is
so relaxing that you'll go to bed feeling happier and the world
will seem brighter the next day.

The reason why this bar became my favorite was because, although it is $10 it is so big that you can get many uses out of it. All you need to do is cut it in pieces and put it under the running water to dissolve.

Another one of their most popular items are their Bath Bombs. These are normally are one time use products because many of them have special things inside of them like flowers, but others you could break in half to get two uses out of them. One of their most popular is the Fizzbanger.

We use cinnamon for its spicy, woody notes, creating
an uplifting scent to fight fatigue and feelings of depression.
Cinnamon is incredibly warming too, making it perfect for
fighting winter chills.
Here is a picture I found of The Fizzbanger doing its thing in the tub

Jack Constantine created Fizzbanger to transform baths into something
new and exciting. Drop one in your bath to experience a symphony
of crackling candy, like a science experiment gone awry! The color
will change again and again, from yellow to blue to deep green.
Like all of our new Bath Bombs, it takes forever to fizz away-so
you can enjoy the spectacle for longer.
So while at the mall today to go see the movie Paranormal Activity 3, which in my opinion was better then the other two, I had to stop into Lush and check out all of the new holiday bubble bars and bath bombs they had available.
After contemplating it for a while I decided to go with the Candy Mountain bubble bar, one I have never tried before. Candy Mountain had a very sweet smell, similar to bubble gum.

Lush's description of the bath bar: You must have a Candy Mountain in your stocking this year. It is the Creamy Candy Bubble Bar all dressed up for the holiday party in pink and white stripes, and swirled into a majestic peak (the LUSH elves in our factory have quite the time getting these ones just right). Crumble a Candy Mountain under running water and witness the eruption of mass amounts of bubbles, along with an intoxicatingly delicious candy fragrance, thanks to vanilla absolute. The sweetest bath since last Christmas.
Our irresistible, vanilla scent comes back every holiday season, this year in twisty mountain form

I used less then half of the bar, and it created just enough
bubbles. I can probably get another three uses out of it.
The bar gave the bath a nice sweet smell, and at first turned the water a light pink color. As the bath continued to fill however, it started to loose its color and turn white.

I also used one of their hair treatments, H'SUAN WEN HUA. My roommate had bought it a while ago and gave me the rest to try out. It says it is a mega moisturizer for dry hair. Now that the weather is changing, my hair is starting to become quite dry, so I decided to try this product out to see if it would help rehydrate it.

avocado, vitamin-rich watercress, olive oil and stimulating
rosemary are crammed into this ultra effective treatment
to soften and nourish your hair
I put the treatment in my hair, and left it in for about 20 minutes before rinsing it out. As soon as I began to rinse my hair I could feel a difference. My hair feels a lot softer even after brushing it. I will see how it feels after my hair has dried, but I have a feeling that this is a product I will be returning to Lush for.

So what are you waiting for!? Go check out the website and browse through their huge selection of products, because everyone deserves a little bit of relaxation every once in a while :)

Its Beginning To Look A lot Like Christmas..

... At Starbucks!

This morning I got the news. The news I wait for all year long.. the holiday drinks are now being served at Starbucks! Right after class I rushed over to get my first gingerbread latte of the season, and it was wonderful :) I know it is only the first of November and way too early to start thinking about Christmas, but what can I say.. nothing can turn a crappy day around like a little holiday spirit, no matter how early it is.

Gingerbread goodness in a cup. It's heaven<3

Other delicious drinks include the Caramel Brulée Latte, Eggnog Latte, and the Peppermint Mocha Latte. And the best part? They now offer a skinny version of the Peppermint Mocha Frappuccino that is only 100 calories! Can't get any better then that.

On another note, this weekend I rented the movie Something Borrowed with Ginnifer Goodwin and Kate Hudson from Red Box, and let me tell you.. I absolutely loved it! I haven't found a good chick flick that I have fallen in love with like that in a long time. I haven't read the books, but I am planning on picking it up as soon as my exams are over and I have a little more free time. But I highly recommend renting this movie right away!

So go ahead and run to your local Starbucks and get your hands on one of their holiday drinks, and sit down with this great chick flick..  it just might make your Tuesday a little jollier. :)

Heaven in a cup

First there was the creation of the blizzard, and everyone fell in love. Then the coldstone craze came along with their delicious flavor combinations, and now it seems that frozen treat lovers have moved on to a new love.. frozen yogurt. And I must admit, it is one that I have long been a fan of. As someone who really doesn't love ice cream, I can honestly say I LOVE frozen yogurt.

I Love the tart flavors that they have to offer, and the abundance of toppings. You can either go the healthy rout choosing fresh fruit, and granola, or go crazy with the fruity pebbles, sprinkles, and my favorites, the cheese cake bites. Whatever you are feeling these places will hit the spot.

We have a few places back in Jersey some self serve, and some where they make it for you and you tell them everything you want. I personally prefer the self serve to the service. I'll admit to you right here.. I am more of a fan of the toppings then the frozen yogurt itself. So when I serve myself I put a few little tastes of different flavors and then pack on the toppings!

16 Handles is a self serve place in Jersey, and many other locations. Although they have a better variety of frozen yogurt flavors, that change frequently from Red Velvet, to Cheesecake, to Watermelon.. they don't have as much of a variety of toppings as their counterpart here in Rhode Island..

Mango frozen yogurt with raspberries, cheesecake bites,
mango flavor ball things (idk what they are but they looked
interesting so I had to try!) and pomegranate drizzle. yum

I know that there are pinkberry's everywhere but I had my first experience when I came back here for school. Although they have less flavors (you can choose between original, chocolate, vanilla, mango, and the new peanut butter) they have a billion toppings.

But no matter your preference or your location, I give all of these frozen yogurt places two thumbs up!
This is a trend that isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

Time flies..

..when you are in college.

I have definitely come to this conclusion. It is the end of October already! Where did this trimester go? In case you don't know what I am talking about, here at my college we have three trimesters instead of semesters, which is part of the reason i think it goes by so fast. We have two more weeks of school left until exams. Then comes the week and a half Thanksgiving break :) But before this trimester is said and done, I will catch you up and some of the things that have been going on.

So far FSM has been pretty crazy. FSM, or food service management, is the degree I am currently going for. My classes right now consist of food service management, macroeconomics, accounting I, and history through colonial times. To say my schedule is crazy is an understatement. Mondays and Wednesdays I have classes from 11:30 until 8pm. On Tuesday I have a 7:10 class which calls for a 5:30 am wake up in order to get the bus downtown, and then I have a class at 3:50, where i need to get another bus back downtown. I feel like i ride the bus more then I am in class. Thursdays are my easy days, where I have one class at 7:10.

But it's not all hard work and studying, it is college after all..

Hope you all are having an amazing day! And I know I have said it before, but this is my official return to my blog. Get ready for more posts then you know what to do with :)

Bad Blogger

I'm baaaaackkkk! I took a little break from blogging to enjoy the rest of my summer vacation, which went by way too fast. Me and the boyfriend had a lot of lazy days watching some good and not so good movies, went to a bunch of fun concerts, got stuck in the rain, bet on some horses, and just took advantage of the time we had together. I also went on a trip to amish-land and hershey park with the fam.

But now that I had that little break I am super excited to start blogging again, especially with school starting back up in a couple of days. Besides, being away at school will give me a whole lot more to blog about.
I am officially leaving for the ocean state tomorrow night, and moving into my apartment on friday. I have gone shopping for tons more decorations, and all my bedding and stuff like that. Decorating is one of my passions so I can not wait to get to make an empty space my own.
I will also be updating you on my job search, road trips, nights out, and of course everything food related.

My next post will be my before and after pictures of the apartment probably either Friday night or Saturday, so stay tuned for that!
